About OS Technologies
We build Android apps that make your network connection more useful: share a VPN or internet connection with other devices, and send only the apps you choose through a proxy you control.
What we do
OS Technologies is an independent Android developer focused on one area: networking tools that give you control over how your devices connect.
- Share a connection. Turn a phone that is on a VPN or a good connection into a proxy that your laptop, TV or another phone can use over Wi-Fi or a hotspot.
- Choose which apps use the proxy. Send only selected apps through an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy, or exclude the apps you want to leave alone, using Android's VPN service.
- Work on the big screen. Proxy All Apps has an Android TV interface built for a remote control.
Our apps
| App | What it does | Runs on | Ads | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Proxy All Apps | Routes the apps you choose through your own HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy (SOCKS5 with UDP), using Android's VPN service. Includes an Android TV interface and live speed readout. | Android 6.0+, Android TV | Yes | Google Play |
| VPN Hotspot & Proxy | Runs a proxy server on your phone so other devices on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot can share its connection, including a VPN. | Android 5.0+ | Yes | Google Play |
| VHP Bridge | Creates a bridge between your VPN and VPN Hotspot & Proxy, so a whole-device VPN can still be shared. | Android 5.0+ | No | Google Play |
Full descriptions are on the home page.
How the apps work together
The apps are designed to be used as a set. A typical setup for sharing a VPN with another device looks like this:
If your VPN tunnels the whole device and other devices can no longer reach the proxy, VHP Bridge keeps the connection working while your traffic still goes through the VPN.
The technology
Android VPN service
Proxy All Apps uses Android's built-in VpnService to capture traffic from only the apps you select, with no root needed.
Native networking core
Packet handling in Proxy All Apps is written in C++ with the Android NDK for speed, with builds for 32-bit and 64-bit ARM and x86.
HTTP and SOCKS5
Supports HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5, including UDP ASSOCIATE, so DNS and other UDP traffic can go through your proxy.
Android TV
A Leanback-based interface with clear focus highlighting, so everything can be controlled with a TV remote.
Local-first
Proxying and relaying happen on your device. Your traffic is not routed through servers run by us.
Google services
Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Performance, Messaging) for stability and updates, and Google AdMob with consent handling for ads where shown.
How we work
- You choose the proxy. We do not run proxy or VPN servers and we do not see your traffic.
- No accounts. None of the apps asks you to sign up or hand over personal details.
- Clear privacy policies. Each app has its own, written to describe what that app actually does. Read them here.
- Consent for ads. Where required, such as the EEA and UK, ad personalisation asks for your consent first.
